What is needed to
play these radio show MP3's?
MP3 CDs can play on your computer
using a free program such as WinAmp on a PC (available for free at
www.winamp.com) or on a
Macintosh you can use iTunes (available at
www.apple.com/itunes).
MP3's can also play in the newest version of popular programs such as
RealPlayer and QuickTime. You can also play MP3's on a some DVD players and
in special MP3 players such as the Riovolt. If desired,
you can also easily transfer shows to audio cassettes.
Will these old time radio
shows play in my MP3/DVD player?
Maybe - it depends what brand of
MP3/DVD player you own. The old time radio shows should work fine with MP3
players that download the shows through a USB cable through your computer.
The CDs themselves will definitely play in a Riovolt player and in your
computer using the program WinAmp (available for free at
www.winamp.com).
Unless you're using a Riovolt
brand player, I cannot guarantee that your player will play the radio shows
without problems. Many MP3 players say they will play all MP3's, but simply
will not play certain MP3 bitrates (most OTR is stored at 32kps 22khz
bitrates - if your non-Riovolt brand can play these specs, they should
work fine, but not always). The only reliable MP3 player
I can recommend is the Riovolt MP3 CD player
or they will also play on your computer without any problems.
What MP3 player is recommended
for playing these shows?
I recommend the Riovolt player which
is a portable Walkman-size CD MP3 player. It plays all different kinds of
MP3 bitrates. I purchased a Riovolt and a cassette adapter and which works
great to play the old time radio CDs in my car. For users with a cd player
in their car, one user reports hooking up the Riovolt to the
Sound Feeder device works great. The Riovolt also will display
filenames/MP3-IDs and has a number of great functions such as resume play,
pause, and fast-forwarding, rewinding and a small LCD screen that will
visually display file and episode titles. More information can also be found
on the Riovolt at:
