What is MP3 and why use MP3 to
store old time radio shows?
While only two 30-minute old time
radio episodes will fit on a single audio CD, MP3's are a kind of sound
compression format that allows you store 50+ hours of old time radio shows
on just a single CD. It saves a lot of storage space and is a great way to
collect and store old time radio shows for easy listening.
Can these radio shows play on
my regular CD player?
No, sorry, but MP3's cannot play on
standard CD players

What MP3
player is recommended for playing these shows?
I recommend the Riovolt player
which is a portable Walkman-size CD MP3 player. It plays all different
kinds of MP3 bitrates. I purchased a Riovolt and a cassette adapter and
which works great to play the old time radio CDs in my car. For users
with a cd player in their car, one user reports hooking up the Riovolt
to the Sound Feeder
device works great. The Riovolt also will display filenames/MP3-IDs
and has a number of great functions such as resume play, pause, and
fast-forwarding, rewinding and a small LCD screen that will visually
display file and episode titles. More information can also be found on
the Riovolt at: riohome.com.
